Behind Episode 107: Universal Laws

The 12 Universal Laws are thought to be intrinsic unchanging laws of our universe in ancient cultures have always intuitively known.  These laws are often associated with Ho’oponopono a meditation freedom originating in the Hawaiian culture.

Most say there are 12 Universal Laws or Principals but Hermeticism, a branch of spiritual philosophy dating back as early as the first century A.D. They were outlined by famed author Hermes Trismegistus, who is believed to have written the Emerald Tablet and the Corpus Hermeticism (two highly influential, ancient teachings), suggests there is only 7 Universal Laws or Principals.

Commonly the 12 Universal Laws are 1 Divine oneness, 2 Vibration, 3 Correspondence, 4 Attraction, 5 Inspired action, 6 Perpetual transmutation of energy, 7 Cause and effect, 8 Compensation, 9 Relativity, 10 Polarity, 11 Rhythm, 12 Gender.

But Hermeticism suggests the 7 laws are The principles of 1 mentalism, 2 correspondence, 3 vibration, 4 polarity, 5 rhythm, 6 cause and effect, and 7 gender

Why is there a vast difference in the Laws or Principals of heaven and earth.  I believe this has to do with the philosophies of east and west.  Ancient Egypt was an expansive culture that connected to heaven and earth much differently than that of the western world.  In ancient Egypt they were much more connected to higher powers and higher beliefs than the west world is due to criticism, self sabotage, and even disassociation with the universe as a whole.

Western Philosophies like Western Medicine are very one way while Eastern and Ancient Philosophies span centuries and are expansive and fluid.

Whether you choose to follow the common Universal 12 or the Hermetic 7 you need balance with heaven and earth in order to lead a fulfilled and spiritual journey of oneness.  Now let’s talk about applying the Universal 12 and Hermetic 7 in our lives.
