FALL EQUINOX RITUAL
Allow some you time on the night of this important cosmic event. Get cozy, play soothing music and perhaps prepare a calming bath for yourself afterward.
If you’re the type of person who favors crystals for the home and enjoys Full Moon rituals, it’s likely that you’re familiar with these kinds of ceremonies and what you need to get started. As a reminder and for those perhaps newer to rituals, you’ll need to gather the following items:
- Fireproof pot
First, you light the candle, close your eyes and envision yourself connecting to your shadow. Observe the behavior and emotions of your shadow and allow yourself to safely feel the emotions arising.
Once you feel them bubbling up, envision what you want to release. Grab your pen and paper and write down what you want to release, then fold the paper into a small square.
After this you speak your truth to the universe saying out loud, “I release ____(name the shadow issue) and bring balance into my life. So may it be.”
Then, you light the folded paper in the candle flame and place in a fireproof pot. As you watch it burn to ashes, send out gratitude. Once its embers have dulled, gather the ashes in your jar – mixing in salt – as a reminder of the balance of dark and light.
Close the jar with the lid and then pour wax from the candle over the lid to seal. This jar will live by your bedside table to remind you of your commitment to balancing the light and dark in your life.
